Coffee cream slices

    Directions

    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 170°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

    Step 2

    Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually adding the sugar.

    Step 3

    Add flour and walnuts and briefly whisk to combine.

    Step 4

    Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking tray and bake for 15mins. Leave to cool, cut into 3 equal parts and sandwich them together with the filling. Cut into slices.

    Step 5

    To make the filling, cream the butter and icing sugar. Add condensed milk and beat briefly until smooth. Finally stir in the coffee (let the coffee cool down before you add it into the mixture).

    Step 6

    To make the icing heat the cream in a small pan (don’t let it come to boil). Turn off the heat and stir in the chocolate – keep stirring until it melts. Decorate the tops of the slices with the icing. Keep refrigerated.
