A staple in our household! Perfect addition to cereal or delicious with some yoghurt and a drizzle of honey!
You can substitute any of the nuts, seeds and dried fruit to suit your own preferences!! I use whatever I have in the cupboards..!
Ingredients
Dry ingredients
Syrup
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 140 degrees celsius. Roughly chop up the nuts. I usually blitz them a couple times in a food processor. Add your nuts, seeds and oats and leave aside.
2. Add all your syrup ingredients to a small saucepan. Mix over a low heat and stir. When the mixture is warm, pour it over the nuts and seed mix and combine well with a wooden spoon.
3. Line 2 baking trays with some parchment paper. Evenly spread out the granola mix between the 2 trays. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes and you will have to mix & turn the granola several times. HOWEVER, if you have a very fast, hot oven you will need to check it more regularly as it browns very quickly.
4. When it's finished, it will have a dark brown, honey colour. Once it cools it will harden and become crunchy! Stir in the dried fruit mix once the granola has cooled a little.
