Sunflower and honey loaf




    Step 1

    Put all ingredients except the sunflower seeds into a large bowl and bring together to make a dough.

    Step 2

    Knead for 10 mins (this is best done in a mixer with a dough hook), then cover the bowl with cling film and leave in a warm place for an hour to rise.

    Step 3

    On a floured surface knead the dough briefly again and divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

    Step 4

    Lightly grease a baking sheet, place one dough ball in the middle of the sheet and the remaining 7 around it to create a flower shaped loaf. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 30-40 mins.

    Step 5

    Preheat the oven to 200°C, brush the top of the bread with a little water, sprinkle with some sunflower seeds and bake for approx 40 mins until golden.
