Sultana buns

    Step 1

    Mix the flour, sugar and yeast in a large bowl.

    Step 2

    Make a well in the centre and add butter, egg and milk.

    Step 3

    Mix to form a soft dough and knead for 5 mins. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave in a warm place for an hour.

    Step 4

    Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead briefly.

    Step 5

    Roll out to a 12x9in rectangle and sprinkle with sultanas. Roll up the dough from the long edge like a Swiss roll and cut into 9 pieces.

    Step 6

    Lightly grease a 9 inch square cake tin and put the 9 pieces in the tin, spacing evenly.

    Step 7

    Cover with cling film and leave to stand for 20 mins.

    Step 8

    Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C and bake the buns for 30 mins, then brush with a little honey and leave to cool.
