Potato and ham bake

    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 200°C and lightly grease a large ovenproof dish.

    Step 2

    Cook the potatoes in a pan of boiling water for 5 mins until nearly tender.

    Step 3

    . In the meantime melt the butter with the oil in another pan and fry the onion.

    Step 4

    Put half of the potato slices on the bottom of the prepared dish, season and cover with onion slices and ham.

    Step 5

    Spread over half of the crème fraîche and sprinkle with half of the grated cheese.

    Step 6

    Cover with the rest of the potato slices, season, spread over the rest of the crème fraîche and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 30-40 mins until golden.
