Mince and potato bake

    Step 1

    Heat the oil in a large pan, add onions and fry for a minute, then add the minced beef and fry, stirring, for 5 mins.

    Step 2

    Add tomato puree and garlic, season with salt and pepper, add a splash of water, cover and cook for 10 mins.

    Step 3

    Preheat the oven to 210°C/fan 190°C and grease a large ovenproof dish.

    Step 4

    Arrange half of the potato slices on the bottom of the dish, season with salt and pepper and spread over the meat mixture.

    Step 5

    Cover with the remaining potato slices, season again, cover with tin foil and bake for 25 mins.

    Step 6

    Mix together crème fraîche and eggs, add a splash of milk and parsley and pour this mixture over the dish. Then bake, uncovered, for another 20-25 mins until set and golden. Serve with salad.
