CHOCOLATE CHERRY OAT CAKE 🍒 [vegan,gf]

    Directions

    Step 1

    1. To a pot add the oats, milk, and syrup. Heat on medium low and cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Stir in the cocoa powder and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

    Step 2

    2. Make the cherry filling next. Add the cherries and chia seeds to a microwave safe bowl and heat for 1 minute. Mix and set aside.

    3. Add half of the oats to a lined bowl (I used plastic wrap). Add the cherry filling and top with the remaining oats. Place in the refrigerator overnight.

    Step 4

    4. When ready to eat gently remove the oats from the bowl onto a plate.

    Step 5

    Make the chocolate topping by mixing together the cocoa powder (or protein powder), maple syrup, and milk. Add the milk gradually until desired consistency is reached. Pour this over the oats and add extra cherries or cacao nibs. Enjoy!
