These tacos are so quick to make but so tasty! The chicken can definitely be substituted with whatever meat or alternatives you have on hand. I’ve tried these with steak before and they’re just as good.

The salsa ingredients are portioned for a cup-sized amount (about 100ml). I portioned it this way as I knew that we wouldn’t need any more; however, if you think you’ll use a larger quantity then feel free to double or triple the recipe, of course. Make sure that you’re vigilant about the amount of garlic put in, as raw garlic has a much stronger taste than cooked garlic.

Ingredients

    Directions

    Step 1

Place the chicken and all the seasonings in a large bowl and mix together. You can leave this to marinate for a few hours for added flavour, but they still taste great when cooked straight away.

    Step 2

Place the chicken in a large pan on high heat and fry until cooked through and browned all over.

    Step 3

While the chicken is cooking, add the tomato, onion, garlic clove, chili, coriander, and lime juice to a blender/food processor. Blend until you reach your desired consistency, I like mine to be a little chunky.

    Step 4

Heat your taco shells according to packet instructions, and serve with the chicken, salsa, and any optional add ons (like cheese, sour cream, sweet corn, or tobaso sauce).
