Chicken cordon bleu

    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 200°C and grease a baking sheet.

    Step 2

    Cut a pocket horizontally in each chicken breast, careful not to cut through.

    Step 3

    Put a slice of ham and cheese in each pocket (fold the ham and cheese if the pocket is too small) and secure with cocktail sticks. Season with salt.

    Step 4

    Take 3 bowls and put the flour in one bowl. In another bowl beat the egg with milk and put the breadcrumbs in the last bowl.

    Step 5

    Coat each of the breasts with flour, then dip in the egg and roll in breadcrumbs.

    Step 6

    Transfer to the baking sheet and bake for approx 30 mins, depending on the size of the chicken breasts, until golden and cooked through.
