    Step 1

    Cut the steak into thin strips and season with salt and pepper.

    Step 2

    Mix together red wine, ketchup and mustard, pour over the meat, stir well and leave to marinate in the fridge for about an hour.

    Step 3

    Heat the oil in a pan, add beef and fry till browned, then pour in the remaining marinade, add onion, cover and cook for 30 mins or until the meat is tender.

    Step 4

    Mix 1 tbsp cornflour with 2 tbsp cold water and pour into the pan, stirring continuously until thickened. Serve with chips or potatoes.
