Apple and prune cake




    Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease and line a round cake tin.

    Step 2

    Cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.

    Step 3

    Beat the eggs into the creamed mixture, one at a time, following each addition with a spoonful of flour.

    Step 4

    Fold in the remaining flour with the baking powder, add milk and mix well. Finally fold in the chopped apples.

    Step 5

    Transfer to the prepared tin and level the surface. Spread the prunes on top and sprinkle with flaked almonds.

    Step 6

    Bake for approx 45 mins or until a skewer inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean.
